Do I need a chimney for a stove or fireplace?
Needing a chimney is a common misconception among many of our prospective customers. The truth is that most of the stoves and fireplaces we supply do not require a chimney. We supply vented and unvented gas fires to Farnham homeowners, which are fully operational without the use of a chimney. Likewise, our balanced flue multifuel stoves and wood burning stoves do not require a chimney.
Naturally, the personnel at our fireplace showrooms always advise you on the best possible option for your home. If necessary, our gas fire installers also offer their input when they come to survey your property.
What is the difference between a vented and unvented fireplace?
A vented gas fireplace, much like a traditional wood burner, requires a vent to filter air in and out of your property in Farnham. Unvented fireplaces, however, do not release fumes into your home, which means they do not require an air vent. The precision-design glass doors of an unvented gas fire acts as a seal around your appliance, ensuring optimal safety.
Are gas fires and wood burning stoves good for the environment?
At our fireplace showrooms, we stock a wide range of eco-friendly appliances, including multifuel stoves. When it comes to gas fires, we have a selection of high-efficiency models that heat up even large rooms at the flick of a switch. While wood burners may not always be the most energy-efficient appliance, they are carbon neutral and have DEFRA approval, for use in smoke control areas around Farnham.
You can also find a variety of multifuel stove lines with DEFRA approval at Guildford Fireplaces.
What are gas log units?
A lot unit ignites gas, producing a realistic-looking flame around built-in flame-resistant logs. These are ideal for use in an existing wood burning fireplace with a fully functional chimney. At our fireplace showrooms, we stock and display gas log fireplaces in a range of different styles, to suit any property in Farnham.
What do you include in a new installation?
Our accredited gas fire installers can upgrade existing fires and stoves for more modern models, or undertake more complex installations of multifuel stoves and wood burning stoves. As part of our installation service, we carry out any plastering and concreting work, integrate chimney linings and twin-wall flue systems, and deal with any necessary pipework.
We even remove and dispose of your old appliance, for your convenience.
